Welcome to King Dragon

120 E Mt Eden Ave, Bronx, NY 10452

General Info

Tucked along 120 E Mt Eden Ave, Bronx, NY 10452, King Dragon is the kind of neighborhood Chinese restaurant that locals tend to return to again and again. From the outside, it feels simple and unpretentious. Step inside, though, and the focus quickly shifts to the food, the relaxed vibe, and a menu packed with familiar comfort dishes that satisfy both quick cravings and casual meals.

The restaurant has a casual dining atmosphere, which makes it easy to stop by whether you're grabbing a fast bite or sitting down for a quiet meal. Many people appreciate it as a solo dining spot, especially when they want something warm and filling without a long wait. The wheelchair accessible entrance also makes it welcoming for everyone in the neighborhood. Families often stop in as well, since the setting is good for kids and the portions are generous enough to share.

What stands out most at King Dragon is the variety on the menu. Classic Chinese takeout favorites sit alongside hearty combination plates, giving visitors plenty of options depending on their mood. One dish that immediately caught my attention was the Lo Mein and Crab Ragoons combo. The noodles are savory and comforting, while the crab ragoons add a crispy, creamy contrast that makes the plate feel complete.

Another standout is the Boneless Spare Ribs with Fried Rice. The ribs have a rich, slightly sweet flavor and pair perfectly with the savory fried rice. It’s the kind of dish that feels both indulgent and satisfying, especially if you’re hungry after a long day.

If you prefer something simple and classic, the Fried Chicken and Fried Half Chicken with Fried Rice are reliable choices. The chicken comes out crispy on the outside while remaining juicy inside, and the fried rice adds just enough flavor to round out the meal. For diners who enjoy lighter portions or variety, the restaurant also offers small plates, making it easy to sample multiple items without overordering.

One slightly unexpected item on the menu is couscous, which adds a unique twist compared to typical Chinese takeout spots in the Bronx. It’s a pleasant surprise for anyone looking to try something a little different alongside traditional dishes.

Overall, King Dragon fits comfortably into the neighborhood dining scene. The straightforward menu, casual setting, and dependable flavors make it a practical choice for locals searching for a reliable Chinese restaurant in the Bronx. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick solo meal, picking up food for the family, or simply exploring local dining locations and reviews, this spot offers a simple but satisfying experience.

“ The food and the service here was absolutely amazing. I called ahead to place my order and when I arrived I was greeted with a smile and found my food to be fresh out the pan. The portions are big, I was able to share with two other friends. I ordered the boneless spare ribs with pork fried rice, my friend ordered Low Mein, and we shared crab rangoons. The food was very flavorful, it still tasted good hours later even when it was cold. There are a few tables to sit and dine, one of the workers were constantly wiping down the table and making sure it was clean. I enjoyed my time here and cannot wait to come back and try other options on the menu. ”

“ A place with great food and great service to. This place really comes in handy if you don't want to cook one of those days or if you want to eat out for a special event or occasion. Lastly, the delivers be fast and on point, and the food is always fresh and good too truly amazing ”

“ Such tasty fresh Chinese food! And they deliver unlike most other Chinese spots in the area. They’re also open late. This is a spot I can eat from that doesn’t make me sick and my tummy all whack! Ordered from them over 4x in the past 2 weeks! Just wish I found them earlier. Mmmm go here cuz they food is good! My partner enjoyed his Sweet & Sour Chicken. I tried the sauce only and it was so savory. I do wish Chinese places would call plantain “sweet plantain” instead of bananas. But this is the first spot I’ve gotten sweet plantain from that it wasn’t an undercooked oily mess! It was tasty and cut just right and not extra oily. They have tostones here as well I believe. Since moving from Brooklyn we despise the food we’ve had at many other places we’ve tried. As someone who doesn’t eat meat and has many allergies I appreciate that they LISTEN to your special requests and they haven’t given attitude to me either even though I come off as picky. Wish I could move these people with me! 5/5 ”

“ Best Chinese I’ve had since moving to the Bronx. And they actually listen when I tell them to be aware of adding oyster sauce to my food as I am allergic. They are polite and the food is quality. The vegetables are not limp like some places and the sauce doesn’t taste old. I wish they did season the vegetable fried rice a bit more but the food is still good. The portions could also be a bit more generous. A large usually lasts me 2 meals at other spots and here it’s more 1 1/2. I don’t order from anyone else in this area. I order the Fried Bean Curd w/ Mixed Vegetables in their garlic sauce, vegetable fried rice, and my partner gets General Tso’s Chicken and Boneless spare ribs. Keep it up guys! 5/5 ”

“ They are polite on the phone, actually understand English and will bring the food to your door which many restaurants don’t do in the Bronx. Also, this place may have used to be known as KING STRIKING (not sure if different owner now) but the name is King Dragon to fix up any confusion. This is the best Chinese I’ve have since moving here from Brooklyn. Good quality. The vegetable fried rice could use more flavor however. Delivery is FAST! Only place I’ll order Chinese from here. ”

“ I have had my food delivered many times over and every single time delivery is best there is. 10-15 minutes tops. The food arrives steaming hot and fresh. The Kung Pao Chicken is out of this world. Prices are great too especially considering the amount of food they deliver. This is my go to Chinese restaurant. Excellent service, excellent food, and prompt delivery makes this place A-1 in my book. ”

“ The establishment has improved. I’ve been coming to this establishment since my preteen years. Service is quick and food is good. However, I just don’t like the spike in pricing. The prices did increase quite a bit since they’ve reopened from that hiatus In order to renovate. ”

“ The go to neighborhood Chinese spot... they have a knack for keeping the veggies crisp and not cooked to death. A major plus in an area with so little healthy dining options...their wings are above average. Usually I get wing's , Mei Fun and broccoli and string beans ... ”
